Kong Kong Mid-Levels Drawing

January 6, 2014
One of my favourite places is the Mid levels in HK.  It's just so frenetic with life, people, sights and sounds and smells.
There's a colour version of the drawing underway but I really like this as it is.

Autumn Walkies

January 2, 2014
Now who's taking who for a walk this beautiful Autumn day?

I was doodling and day dreaming the other day when this image began to form on my iPad.  I guess it's a moment in time that's about a certain quality of light and air and temperature and smells.  It's about that ambiance you can only get on a woodland walk in Autumn.

No idea how much that chic lady likes rambling through nature, but I just know that her dog, who has to spend most of the week being a fashion accessory is going nuts for it!

Kite Flying - Morris Minor

December 30, 2013
This was fun. I recall those distant childhood days desperately trying to get traditional diamond kites to get aloft.  I'd often wonder if we could try the car-drag approach but fortunately my dad's common sense prevailed and the idea had to remain just a picture in my head... until now.
Inspired by Pascal Campion's fantastic illustrations I thought I'd play around on my iPad using SketchbookPro software and this is what happened!

That nice Mr Assad

September 2, 2013
Like a regular subscription, the bad news falls through our mail box and stamps all over our day.

Just when you were pottering around the house, folding clothes, cleaning the floor, sorting that junk draw, another edition of the same old evil is delivered into your hands.

So sit down with a coffee and flick through the pages.  It's hard to believe what you're reading isn't it?

Dave Bowman : a space occupancy

September 1, 2013
Part of my 'MISPLACED' series.  2001's hero finds his transition through the Star gate disappointing.

Other worlds huh?  Never quite what you expect.

Is it Godzilla? Is it the Alien Queen? No it's the Mag-the-Ripper

"There's no such thing as Society", she infamously proclaimed.
I think it would be fair to say "opinion is divided" about her, however, the Tory Press and Government have conspired to try and give the impression that the people of the UK have a warm fuzzy glow about the tin-pot lady.

Frankly, as an innocent bystander of the 80s onwards I have very seldom heard a good word about her from even the most politically uncommitted people.

Therefore it seems beholden on Seething Lane to at least try (in a very small way) to counterbalance the propaganda of the tory newspapers and BBC with this loving tribute to the butcher of Society.

GOTCHA!

May 15, 2012
Always fun to watch a 'Journalist' claim that extensive police investigations are a sideshow and a waste of money.  Also 'cringe-making' to see her partner evoking the image of murder investigations, when the hacking of Milly Dowler's phone is a fundamental part of the investigation.

The Government and the NHS

May 14, 2012
This week Health Minister Andrew Lansley is all over the news thanks to his visit to the Nurse's annual conference. Even Lady Cantata could earn a thing or two from him.

Capitalism pays its way (TM)

April 6, 2012
Of course we all know that 'Big Business' = 'A Big Heart' so it's always a delight to see politicians standing up for the big guy against the.... er... the miss-informed.
There's always a money making opportunity to be had, and the 'occupy' protestors could do very nicely through a book deal or two. And Lady Cantata owns a publishing company I believe; So what are you waiting for?

Architecture Thugs

April 5, 2012
The Prime Minister sees himself as the guardian of public taste - leading to a venomous outpouring of tabloid bile.  Thank goodness for our betters.  We can sleep easily in our thatched cottages, Tudor Manors and Stately Homes.

Unholy Relic

March 10, 2012
The first full (5 page) Seething Lane story is complete!  Phew!.  It features Sam, Bullingdon, Scarlatti and a weird creature descended from Wolves.

Click on the image below or via the link at the top of this page to download the PDF.   If you like it, please share it or mention Seething Lane.

First page complete!

February 18, 2012
A number of pages are nearly complete so I thought I'd at least post the opening page as a taster. (Just a low rez for now!)

Work in progress

February 5, 2012
I'm currently working on a five page Seething Lane story.  Yep - five whole pages !  Eeek!  So rather than posting individual short strips I'll be posting excerpts, sketches and 'work in progress' for the next month.

Here's the first stage of an aerial view over the city as an airship approaches Bullingdon's apartments atop his own 'Bullingdon Tower'

Adventures in Banking

January 29, 2012
Sam noticed this book for sale all around London.  It looks like an interesting, if rather unbelievable, tale.

Hard times for the Royals

January 22, 2012

Incredibly, in this age of cuts, bankruptcy and financial despair, there are politicians that are suggesting that what the country needs right now, is to band together and pay for a new yacht for the Royal family.  You couldn't make it up could you?  So I didn't - I just repeated the facts.

Also this week at the Leveson Inquiry into media ethics (ha!) the hunting down and pursuit of a minor royal (Pippa Middleton) by the paparazzi was making news. The untouchable hunted down by the unspeakable.
